With twenty-five years experience in the Film and Television industry Jules began his career in front of camera as an expert presenter, before moving behind the scenes writing, directing and producing in the UK.

He now works in the U.S making compelling visual and narrative content through his production company 21 mile films.

MALIBU STORIES

As director, writer, producer and aerial cinematographer, Jules captured and brought to life the stories of ten local characters told through the lens of Malibu itself.   The originator of the idea, this iconic short-form docu-series was embraced  by  the community and the City of Malibu who then sponsored a special screening at City Hall. Living The Life

Jules directed three series of Sky Arts showcase acquisition ‘Living the Life.’ Delivering thirty-five episodes, Jules wrote the initial treatment then directed, creatively edited and produced every show.  The unique premise of was a conversation between two well- known personalities without an interviewer.  Developing the initial concept for broadcast delivery, Jules managed and directed celebrities through their life stories and the emotional narratives that shaped them.

Amongst others, Jules has directed: BAFTA Fellowship recipients: Sir Alan Parker and Lord Melvyn Bragg; BAFTA Award winners: Sir John Hurt, Sir Derek Jacobi, Joanna Lumley, A.R. Rahman; and Celebrity Personalities: Ken Russell, Charles Dance, Sir Tim Rice, Robin Gibb, Elliott Gould, Hans Zimmer and Cilla Black.

Jules merges his directing skills with his lifelong expertise as an intuitive to guide and help reveal the poignant sharing of key aspects of their lives.

Leslie Phillips

Jules wrote, directed, creatively edited and exec-produced the Channel 4 acclaimed documentary on Britain’s much loved BAFTA Nominated (Venus) national acting treasure, Leslie Phillips. ‘Hello: A Portrait of Leslie Phillips’ was aired on prime-time television in the UK in 2013 covering Leslie’s amazing seventy-five year career on the silver screen and the personal stories behind the man.

Jules was involved in all aspects of the production, including directing Leslie and handling ‘piece to camera’ segments with Sir Anthony Hopkins, Mitzi Gaynor, Richard E Grant and Sir John Hurt.

Jules is an FAA licensed and qualified Drone Pilot & Cinematographer. With over 150 hours flying time, his creative vision intuitively captures stunning aerial footage and still photography to deliver unique perspectives and raise production value on any given project.

Jules’ showcases his footage in documentary filmmaking, freelance work for CBS, Givewith, commissioned photography and as retained for film projects. His aerial footage of migrating grey whales passing through Malibu has been picked up by News agencies two years running.

Jules has worked freelance for CBS EcoMedia and currently with GiveWith - a social impact tech Company, as Director, Producer and Aerial Cinematographer creating powerful eco-centric vignettes and awareness raising impact stories for national non-profits.
