LACTO CENTRICITY - Mothering milk -

Last year for the first blog of my new website I wrote about tea - So I thought I'd kick off my first blog of the New Year with an interesting take on Coffee culture.  In the true tradition of blogging (mind wandering musings - although I always aim for relevance not inanity) was to tie in the popularity and profusion of Coffee houses and self-worth or more importantly self love. LACTO CENTRICITY

If I back track slightly, current culture of head down, rush on, everybody communicating instantly, texting, blackberrying, instant messaging, social networking, conference calling, twittering and such like - everybody is communicating and very rarely actually really saying anything. I won't continue with that thread because I have covered that before in a different blog. However the modern day caricature or that person is being ‘Mothered through coffee.'

LACTO CENTRICITYSo many people are rushing about their day to day business in fear, isolation and self-punishment that the coffee explosion has become a subconscious aspect of mothering. Yes mothering. How?? You ask. Well in the old days of community, greater sense of family, interconnectedness we all absorbed our communal sense of love and support from the family on a daily basis, breakfast and dinner around the family table was the rule, not the exception.

LACTO CENTRICITYThe work I do with my unique ‘Weigh Forward' programme http://www.juleswilliams.com/unique-weigh-forward-programme.htm highlights the subconscious association with milk as ‘Mothers milk' as nourishing, nurturing, mother love comfort. So very subtly the iconic coffee chains have increased our ‘latte' day, and latched us onto their extra shot, decaf latte nipple of comfort, incorporating lacto centricity into our lives.

No longer are you actually ordering a hot beverage to go, but a full fat latte (‘really need some mother love, could do with a bit of nourishing from the world, help me out here' - to go), or a skinny decaf latte (‘ok, I trust no-one, so will maybe allow in a little nourishing mother love, but am far too into the self-punishment thing to allow the whole hug love' - to go.) and various other forms of cappuccino, latte and lacto centric coffee based drinks. Not only that you made get a lovingly made symbol made on the top in frothed milk and a sprinkle of milk chocolate. Can you believe there is even websites devoted to ‘Latte art?' Before you are all up in arms, taking umbrage at my words, it's an observation on a deeper level and you may fully recognise the emotional connection or could humorously offer a wink and a nod to the nuance of truth relevant to you. We are all connected, and our soul group lesson is to work on ourselves and our self worth and everyday life is a surprisingly honest reflection of ourselves if we are willing to learn.

Look around your closest friends / family / peers and look at the milk addicts (milky coffees, chocolate, cheese and milky desserts and you will find a host of fraught mother / daughter / son relationships and people searching out a little comfort, nourishment and love.

LACTO CENTRICITY‘Milky bars are on me.' - Just kidding

Lots of non-mother love
