‘Crediniaethau'...
Maybe some of you clicked on to wonder at my poor spelling, some maybe to find out what the word meant, others from the green green grass of home would have read the Welsh word meaning ‘belief' and thought who's belief?... Well... Your beliefs, thought forms and mental processes, That's the theme of today's blog.
Teaching a workshop on Saturday, I had a small wonderful group of people and it became apparent that all the changes esoteric teachers have talked about for years are definitely becoming reality during this period of time. To paraphrase the film Highlander it really is the ‘Quickening.' What does that mean you ask? That the vibration of the group consciousness is raising and we are being challenged like no other time before to deal with our s**t.

This is what brings me back to beliefs. The saying ignorance is bliss, has many interpretations but previously with spiritual development, those that were clearing blocks from their past, connecting more strongly with spirit and raising their vibration, would, when the journey was tough sometimes wonder if complete ignorance of our soul's journey would make for an easier and more peaceful life. Not anymore because what I am seeing lately is EVERYONE being challenged to face up to their karma, lessons, call it what you will of who they are, what their purpose is and re-connect with their soul's journey and the source.
So ‘ignorance is bliss' in my world is obsolete as a belief and one to consign to the scrapheap of limiting falsehoods that no longer serve me. And while I'm at it and bonfire night is approaching why not slough off a few more. Last week I thought if I had a tenner for every time someone told me that whatever woe was befalling them was due to Mercury retrograde, I'd be writing this blog from aboard my yacht where I was wintering in the Bahamas. Mercury retrograde may have had an energetic effect with you in the past, but it really is worth looking at whether or not you have given the planet too much power and the shifts of the planets too much power. I could spend the next few weeks just talking about this but in a nutshell, new planets are being discovered all the time, which means those planets have always been there, which means those planets may have been having subtle influences on us too, and maybe more obvious ones now to counter mercury. We as a consciousness are shifting, our vibration is shifting so is it not worth re-assessing your beliefs around astrology and the movements of the planets. If you work on yourself, you transcend in the end everything.
Bringing us back down to earth and some more day to day examples it's worth exploring and committing to paper your beliefs and thought processes around areas of your life - family, health, work, money, self worth, dreams, goals and aspirations... Did you want to be an astronaut as a kid, and suddenly realise you still feel you can't commit fully to anything because it's a second gig, and that NASA should be calling you up anytime soon. I don't want to rain on your parade but, as a forty year old bloke, out of shape and needing to pay the mortgage space camp may not be a reality any time soon. The subconscious is quite sneaky at holding onto these thoughts, beliefs and ruminations over the years. Here are a few examples of my own personal ones I have shed over the years... PS no children were hurt in the letting go of these beliefs and they are my personal ones, so don't try them at home unless they are yours too ;-0

They are just a few and you could really go to town and break down all aspects of your life and let go of which limiting beliefs no longer serve you. A friend of mine was in the Special Forces and for twenty years would defend verbally in discussion any conflict we were involved in as a country. Since the Iraq war his whole belief system around the forces, war, politics and corruption has completely changed and he is a clearer energy for it.

On a final note in homage to those of you who wrote to me last week loving the movie references, in the film Bull Durham, Kevin Costner's character tells Susan Sarandon's that he doesn't believe in quantum physics when it comes to matters of the heart, and she flippantly asks him what he does believe in and he rattles off a whole stream of beliefs that blows her away - the link is below (May contain swearing)

So after watching this twenty years ago, I wrote my own ‘I believe' and over the years I have gathered many others from people for a book and more importantly re-written mine a couple of times (the last was 1995) as my beliefs have changed and adapted... Here is the 1995 one below, that I may re-asses over the next few weeks and change again (I still believe that ‘the only thing that is constant is change.') Hopefully it may motivate you to do your own.
I Believe ...in the soul, independent women and lifelong friends. I believe that our existence
is the out picturing of our thoughts and hence we create our own reality. I believe in energy and I believe in flow
and the many levels they manifest themselves both apparent and yet equally non-so.
I believe in optimum nutrition, long mind wandering runs and H2O:-
water to drink, water for cleansing, water to dive in and water as a backdrop for a sunset.
I believe in the people who have taught me, and who I have learned from.
I believe in looking within and the power of our intuition. I believe in moments
and my memories of when time stood still and the past and future were non-existent.
I believe in the wild Silver Brumby, unconditional love and the abundance of the universe.
I believe in the beauty of your OWN way. That fear is not an option, and most of all, I believe in me.
